Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures to shoot in SA from March

Children's series Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures is set to begin production next month in South Australia.

The 26 x 24 minute series will be filmed at the South Australian Film Corporation’s new Adelaide Studios (and on location around SA) before being broadcast on Network Ten and the Cartoon Network, according to a statement. The live-action series will be produced by SLR Productions.

The series is based on Justin D’Ath's action-adventure books about teenage ‘danger magnet’ Sam Fox as he braves the wilds from open ocean to deepest jungle, coming face-to-face with killer sharks, man-eating leopards, raging tornadoes, erupting volcanoes, deadly scorpions, giant anacondas and much, much more.

Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures was one of the first dramas funded by Screen Australia (in July 2012) from its 2012-13 drama budget. The government agency later went on to spend its entire annual $42 million drama budget in six months.

Other investors in the Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures series include Network Ten, ZDF Enterprises, South Australian Film Corporation and KOJO. ZDF Enterprises will distribute the series internationally.
