SBS appoints new Insight EP

SBS has named Glen Caro as the new executive producer of its news and current affairs forum program, Insight.

Caro comes to SBS from the Nine Network, where he has been a longstanding supervising producer on the Today Show.

He spent more than three years heading the weekend edition and has recently been Co-ordinating Producer for the weekday program.

Prior to moving to Australia, he was a producer with the CBS Network, working on leading US programs 60 Minutes and 48 Hours.

He will oversee production of Insight, hosted Jenny Brockie. He replaces Angus Llewellyn who will take an extended break after five years as Insight Executive Producer.

SBS director of news and current affairs, Jim Carroll, said he was excited to welcome Caro on board as executive producer.

"Glen brings a wealth of diverse journalistic and production experience to the role and will continue the program’s reputation for facilitating debate around the issues most important and relevant to contemporary multicultural Australia,” he said.

Caro said it was an honour to join a program of Insight's calibre.

"I look forward to continuing the show's rich tradition of finding and exploring stories that are meaningful to Australians," he said.
