Screenwest has announced $2.15 million in production funding for six documentary projects, including Predator Pets from Ray Pedretti’s new production company Blizzard Road Productions, and the second season of NITV’s Family Rules.

This funding round also includes two projects from Prospero Productions, one from Electric Pictures and another from Artemis Media. All four projects are said to be in the final stages of financing.

Predator Pets, set to commence production in September, follows people for whom “a cat or dog is not enough” including pet owners with bison and tigers.

Developed by Metaforflix and Karla Hart Enterprises and produced in association with NITV, the second season of Family Rules will continue to follow Daniella Rule and her eight daughters. Screen Australia has also supported the series.

This is Screenwest’s first documentary investment for the 2017-18 financial year. Last year it funded 16 productions at $3.2 million. In addition, Electric Pictures and Prospero Productions were supported with SuperDoc funding.
