Stan greenlights second season of ‘Wolf Creek’

'Wolf Creek'.

Stan has confirmed that Screentime’s Wolf Creek will return for a second season, with creator Greg McLean continuing at the helm as showrunner and director.

John Jarratt will once again star as the murderous Mick Taylor.

“The journey we took in taking Wolf Creek from film into award-winning drama with season one on Stan opened us up to all the possibilities that world offered,” said McLean.

“I couldn’t wait to get back into the epic Australian landscape and delve deeper into the twisted mind of our iconic and terrifying villain, Mick Taylor. We’ll be pushing the envelope even further [in season two] to create more thrilling, addictive, must-see drama.”

The first season of the show – one of the first original Australian series to be commissioned by an SVOD service – was sold to Lionsgate in the US and Fox in the UK.

Stan also announced yesterday that from March, the majority of its line-up will be available to download and watch offline.

The second season of Wolf Creek is expected to premiere on Stan in late 2017.
