Terror Australis Horror Script competition lanches

Media release from AWG

Happy Halloween!

On this ghoulish occasion the Australian Writers' Guild have launched the most diabolical script competition ever.

The inaugural Terror Australis Horror Script Competition is looking for best unproduced horror feature script in Australia.

It's summoning the writer of the next Wolf Creek, searching for something as sick as Saw, as unreal as Undead, as bad-arse as Black Water or as insidious as… er… Insidious.

The winning screenwriter will receive an audience with, and their script read by, renowned genre producers Chris Brown (Daybreakers, The Proposition), David Lightfoot (Wolf Creek, Rogue), Josh Reed (Primal) and Andrew Traucki (Black Water, The Reef).

The winner will also receive a once in a lifetime micro-mentorship with Australian Masters of Horror Shayne Armstrong and Shane Krause (Acolytes).

Entry is open to all horror feature film scripts – supernatural or non-supernatural; ghost stories, creature features, zombie and vampire scripts, splatter and slasher films – but also welcome are genre hybrids – crime and horror, sci-fi and horror, action and horror, horror and Western – in fact horror and anything as long as its primary intent and goal is to induce feelings of fear, dread, terror or extreme unease, in short to disturb or scare the pants off the audience.

The competition closes Friday 18 November. For more information go to www.awg.com.au …if you dare!
