Set in a post-apocalyptic future The Hunger Games is based on the popular young adult book series written by Suzanne Collins, who adapted her novel for film herself. The film tells the story of Katniss Everdeen (Oscar nominated Jennifer Lawrence), a 16 year old girl who volunteers to take the place of her younger sister, Primrose, in a televised fight to the death.
The film is directed by Gary Ross (Pleasantville) and also stars Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right) and Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song).
