Veteran leaving Screen Australia

Jonathan Chissick is leaving Screen Australia when his contract expires at the end of March after nine years as a consultant with the agency and its predecessor Film Finance Corp.

Chissick has worked on the revolving P&A fund with Screen Australia’s distribution manager and served as an adviser to the CEO.

“It’s time,” says Chissick, a former president of international theatrical distribution and marketing at DreamWorks, MD of Hoyts Corp and MD of United Artists in Australia and London. “I am looking forward to doing other things in the industry.”

Chissick served as executive producer on Robert Connolly's children’s film Paper Planes, which opens on January 15 via Roadshow and will have its European premiere next month at the Berlin International Film Festival’s Generations section.

“We have had the benefit of Jonathan’s expert advice of the sector for the last 9 years at Screen Australia and former agency FFC. His professionalism and passion has been instrumental in supporting Australian film find a way to audiences, “ Screen Australia said.
