Andrew Lancaster and Andrew Robb join TEN board

Andrew Lancaster and Andrew Robb have been appointed non-executive directors at Ten.

Lancaster’s appointment follows the retirement of Brian Long, who has been a director at Ten since July 2010. He served as chairman from 2011 to 2012 and deputy chairman from 2012.

Lancaster joins the board as the nominee of Bruce Gordon, through his company, Birketu Pty Limited, which is the one of Ten’s largest and longest-standing shareholders.

Lancaster is CEO of WIN Corporation Pty Ltd, and has more than 24 years’ experience in the media industry. He is a director and former chairman of MediaHub Australia and a former Director of Free TV Australia and WIN NBN Sales.

“I’m excited at the opportunity to join the board of Ten, a company that, through fresh and innovative content, is showing strong audience and revenue growth. I’m looking forward to making a positive contribution to Ten and working with the board to build on its ongoing success,” said Lancaster.

Ten’s chairman David Gordon said he was delighted to welcome Lancaster to the board.

“Bruce Gordon’s company has been a major shareholder in Ten for many years and with the commencement of the new regional television affiliation agreement between Ten and WIN on 1 July 2016, our two companies have become even closer,” said Gordon.

“Andrew is a very experienced and talented media executive, and I look forward to the contribution he will make to the Ten Board.”

Andrew Robb’s appointment follows the retirement of John Klepec. Klepec had been an alternate director and then a director of the company (as the nominee for Hanrine Investments, one of the Ten’s substantial shareholders) since October 2013.

Robb joins the board as the new nominee of Hanrine Investments.

Gordon said: “Andrew Robb has had a distinguished career in the government sector and previous experience in marketing and the media. I am very pleased to welcome him to the Ten Board."

From 1990 to 1997, Robb was the federal director and campaign director of the Liberal Party. From 1997 to 2004, he worked for Kerry and James Packer, as well as advising major companies around Australia and overseas.

Robb was elected to the federal seat of Goldstein in October 2004, held various positions in both government and opposition and retired from politics at the recent Federal election.

“I look forward to bringing my extensive political and business experience to the Ten board. I also hope to contribute a strong regional perspective from my years running the National Farmers Federation,” said Robb.
