Australian queer short films in Ukraine

From the 18th to the 28th of October the prestigious Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival will present over 250 films in the Ukraine nations capital. Part of these films are presented under the ‘sunny bunny’ program, a select program of Gay and Lesbian films from around the globe, similar to the Teddy Award at the Berlinale.

In this years festival a special program of 8 queer short films from Australia have been selected from the programs of The XPOSED International Queer Short Film Festival Berlin, a film festival that began three years ago screening queer Australian short films during pride week in Berlin.

Xposed festival curator Bartholomew Sammut will also be a guest of the Molodist International Film Festival and will present the special program of Australian Queer Cinema.

"This is a great opportunity to further exhibit what great Queer Filmmaking we have in Australia and what extraordinary talent we have growing down under," says Sammut whose new short film The Last Son was also selected to screen in the program. "I am so extremely honoured and proud to present these great queer short films from these amazingly talented filmmakers at this exciting international event"
