Box office: NZ film ‘Tinā’ scores strong previews as ‘Minecraft’ hits $51m, ‘Sinners’ climbs 54%

The ANZAC Day long weekend proved one of the healthiest trading periods for cinemas so far this year, with four films grossing above $1 million for the first time since late January.

Leading the pack once again was Warner Bros.’ A Minecraft Movie, which took $4.6 million in its fourth frame – a dip of just 24 per cent – to move to $51.8 million.
