Thunderbolts* easily cleared no. 1 at the box office last weekend, and while its $4.7 million opening was relatively underwhelming by Marvel standards, exhibitors predict the film should have legs.
With the film’s $US76 million launch in North America already considered modest for the studio, the Australian result is softer on a pro-rata basis. That said, it is still the third biggest opening for a film this year behind A Minecraft Movie and Captain America: Brave New World.
