Those lazy, inept wisecracking cops played by Patrick Brammall and Tim Meadows in the US version of No Activity will get more opportunities to miss crimes during their stake-outs.

CBS All Access has renewed the show based on Jungle Entertainment’s Stan-commissioned comedy for a third season.

Trent O’Donnell, who co-created the show with Brammall, continues as the director. No Activity was the first original comedy series to screen on CBS’s streaming service when it launched in 2017.

The second season followed detectives Cullen (Brammall) and Tolbeck (Meadows) as they staked out a cockfighting ring while their police department was rocked by a massive corruption scandal.

It featured a host of guest stars including Jessica Alba, Allison Bell, Joe Manganiello, Sunita Mani, Nasim Pedrad, Amy Sedaris and J.K. Simmons.

No Activity is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Funny or Die, Jungle and Gary Sanchez Productions.

“We are so excited to welcome back our favourite cops for a third season of No Activity,” said Julie McNamara, CBS All Access executive vice president, Original Content.

“Trent O’Donnell and Patrick Brammall, along with Funny or Die and Gary Sanchez Productions, just keep outdoing themselves. No Activity is a master class in proving that while our characters may be bored, they are never boring.”
