Erky Perky website recognised

Press release from Oktobor

The Erky Perky website recently created by digital convergence specialists Oktobor for Ambience Entertainment, was selected as an Official Honoree for the Youth category in The 14th Annual Webby Awards.

David-Michel Davies,
Executive Director of The Webby Awards said, “As a result of the exceptional quality of submissions this year, the Academy has recognized outstanding entries as Official Honorees. The Official Honoree distinction is awarded to the top 15% of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement. With nearly 10,000 entries received from over 60 countries, this is an outstanding accomplishment.”

Oktobor Digital Design Director Matt von Trott said, “The Webby Awards are like the Oscars for websites – just a bit less glamorous. With nearly 70 categories, website entries make up the majority of the Webby Awards. Some are great to look at and interact with. Others are a testament to usability and functionality and a handful excel across the board. To be selected among the best is an incredible achievement.”

For the Erky Perky website the Oktobor process embodied their creative convergence model bringing together all aspects of their digital workflow.

The Erky Perky website also recently received the Favourite Website Award (FWA) Site Of The Day Award (www.thefwa.com). FWA is an industry recognised award program, established in 2000, showcasing websites who use cutting edge technology, together with inspirational ideas, that lead the way for future generations. Winning the award led to an increase in capacity on servers worldwide to accommodate over 100,000 additional hits to the site.
