Stephen F Smith has retired as co-managing director of Tracks Post Production after more than 35 years in the Australian film and television industry.
Stephen has been a prominent and and active participant in the screen industry since his return to Australia from the US in 1984.
Among his career highlights he was general manager of Video Paint Brush Co, Australia’s first CGI company, introducing the first Avid editing system into Australia in 1990, a founding board member of Ausfilm and president of Screen Producers Australia from 2002 to 2006.
Business partner Stephen R Smith will now oversee both the sound and picture operations as sole managing director of Tracks Post Production. Stephen F Smith will remain a director of the company as well as consultant.
“Stephen has been a great business partner and friend over the past 16 years,” says Stephen R. “Since our merging of Frameworks Film and Tracks Television in 1998, we’ve post produced many successful television series and films together. And our names have been the source of much amusement and confusion over that time. We’ll miss that”.
