Aussie actor Guy Pearce (Memento) play's Mildred's wealthy lover in HBO's Mildred's Pierce – a five-part miniseries airing next year.
Also apperaing in the miniseries are Kate Winslet (Titanic) and Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler).
Directed by Todd Haynes, the adaptation of James M. Cain's classic noir novel will focus on Mildred Pierce Beragon (Winslet), a proud single mother struggling to earn her daughter's love during the Great Depression in middle-class Los Angeles.
