Henry & Aaron’s TV debut announced

Press release from Movie Extra

Movie Extra Website’s inaugural webseries 'Henry & Aaron’s 7 Steps to Superstardom' will have its television debut on Movie Extra on 2 December 2011.

The television debut will be a major milestone for the series creators and stars Henry Inglis and Aaron McCann (both 28 from Perth, Western Australia) who will see their sitcom take the leap from webseries to nationally broadcast television comedy series.

“We can’t wait to throw a Henry & Aaron Marathon party! This is the first time we’ve ever had one of our projects broadcast on TV so it’s going to be a real thrill.” said Inglis.

Since making its online debut on the Movie Network Channels YouTube Channel in June, the series has achieved over 93,000 views and counting.

The quirky sitcom follows Inglis and McCann as ‘Henry’ and ‘Aaron’, two clueless best friends on a quest for fame and fortune at any cost, as well as James Helm, Peter Rowsthorn (Kath & Kim), Ben Sutton, Benj D’Addario, Paul ‘Werzel’ Montague, Liam Graham and Caleb Helm.

The series was produced by Lauren Elliott and directed by award-winning WA directors Antony Webb, Maziar Lahooti and Zak Hilditch, who has been nominated for the Rising Talent Award at the 2011 IF Awards.

In January, Inglis and McCann beat over 100 entrants across Australia in the inaugural Movie Extra Webfest competition which saw the boys take out the $50,000 prize to write, produce and star in their own 7 part comedy webseries.

“It’s a dream come true to go from a little idea we both had to finally getting to see it air on television.” said McCann.

Tune in to Movie Extra on Friday 2 December to see all seven episodes of 'Henry & Aaron’s 7 Steps to Superstardom'.
