Horror duo set for Sydney

Leigh Whannell and Nathan Phillips are in town next Thursday to introduce a Sydney premiere screening of the terrifying new Australian horror film DYING BREED, in which they both star.

For celebrated horror icon Leigh Whannell, stepping into another horror role separate to SAW was an exhilarating experience. “The thing I enjoy in horror is asking yourself questions such as ‘What would I do if I woke up in the pine box and only had 10 minutes to live?’ Because there’s no reference point to that,” Whannell enthuses.

DYING BREED director Jody Dwyer believes Whannell and Phillips have an “odd couple” chemistry that made them seem instantly like “they were old mates”.

“All the little nuances that happened between them felt right and that comes from their immense talent as actors, and also their understanding of the needs of the roles and it was very pleasing,” said Dwyer.

Presented by A Night of Horror International Film Festival, the special Halloween screening of DYING BREED takes place at Dendy Cinema Newtown, on Thursday October 30 at 7:00pm.
