Ice Age 4: Continental Drift trailer

A new instalment of hilarious animated feature Ice Age is coming to our screens.

The fourth film, Ice Age: Continental Drift, follows the 'trio' of Manny, Diego and Sid who embark upon their greatest adventure after cataclysm sets an entire continent drift.

Separated from the rest of the herd, they use an iceberg as a makeshift ship, which launches them on an epic seafaring quest. Manny and the gang are challenged like never before to become heroes and do the impossible, as they encounter exotic sea creatures, explore a brave new world, and battle ruthless pirates. And Scrat's reunion with his cursed nut catapults him to places no prehistoric squirrel has gone before.

Shaun of the Dead's Nick Frost and singer Jennifer Lopez have joined the cast, which also includes Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), comedian Denis Leary, Seann William Scott (American Pie) and John Leguizamo (Moulin Rouge!).

The Ice Age series, which dates back to 2002, has been a success for Twentieth Century Fox. Box office receipts have grown in Australia for the films with the first instalment grossing $20.5 million, the second (The Meltdown) taking $24.6 and the third (Dawn of the Dinosaurs) raking in $29.8 million.

The 3D computer-animated film hits cinemas on June 28, 2012.
