Jameson IF Awards Sydney unveils TV talent

Press release from 6dc

With today’s TV stars tomorrow’s film stars, it’s no surprise that the Jameson IF Awards Sydney have embraced the personalities of the small screens for this year’s ceremony. Having introduced two television categories in last year’s awards, it is pertinent that the awards engage the people behind the characters from our nation’s favourite locally-produced television programs.

Daniel Macpherson, Zoe Ventoura, Don Hany, DanielleCormack and Blake Davis will make their IF Awards on-stage debut at the 2011 Jameson IF Awards Sydney. They will be joined by Justine Clarke and Ryan Corr, who will return to Australia’s only people’s choice film awards as presenters this year.

The stars of Australia’s newest hit drama Wild Boys, Daniel Macpherson and Zoe Ventoura will present an award this year to recognise their peers in the television and film industry. Macpherson, also in acclaimed Australian film The Cup only released in cinemas this month, is locally one of our country’s most recognisable faces on the small and big screen.

Having walked the red carpet in 2009 at Luna Park, DonHany will return to the iconic spot present at the 2011 Jameson IF Awards Sydney. Labelled as Australia’s own ‘Dr McDreamy’, Hany is well known on the small screen for his television roles including Offspring, Tangle, East West 101 and Underbelly where he joined a stellar Australian cast.

Ryan Corr’s list of television credits is impressive at age 22 but it was his role in Packed to the Rafters which propelled him into the hearts of viewers. Last year, Corr won the Out of the Box IF Award, an award introduced in 2010 to recognise our country’s next big things in film and this year he will return to the IF Awards to present. A great IF prediction, Corr is set to star alongside Aussie heartthrob Ryan Kwanten in Not Suitable For Children next year.

Lady Julia Morris knows how to handle a tough question or two after being in the boardroom with Mark Bouris in Celebrity Apprentice. On the 16th November, Julia will be on the otherside of the microphone as she takes to the Red Carpet at the Jameson IF Awards Sydney to interview some of the who’s who of the Australian film and television industry.

“So excited to be hosting the Red Carpet for the Jameson IF Awards….I may explode being surrounded by so much talent. I will be trying to touch Todd Lasance at every available opportunity.” Julia Morris.

With talent such as Xavier Samuel, Richard Roxburgh, Callan McAuliffe, Sophie Lowe, David Wenham, Ronan Keating, Michael Dorman, Morgana Davies, Stephen Curry, Catherine McClements and Natalie Bassingthwaite confirmed to present on the night, it is sure to be an entertaining evening with Julia leading the red carpet banter.

Purchase your tickets to attend the awards at www.ifawards.com.au for the unique opportunity to watch as the action unfolds, be entertained by Tim Freedman and The Idle’s musical performance and mingle with the stars at the Jameson After Party held at Luna Park’s Crystal Palace.
