SYDNEY, 7 July 2017 – In a first for SMPTE 2017 ARRI Lighting’s Senior Product Manager, Mike Wagner, will be flying in from the USA and presenting a paper on Calibrated Colour and Software for LED Luminaires at the conference. Wagner’s SMPTE presentation forms part of a broader trip where he will be meeting with gaffers and DoPs in Australia and New Zealand, and culminates in a combined ARRI, Xytech and NZCS State of Production and Technology evening in Auckland on Tuesday 25 July.

Wagner said, “I’m very much looking forward to my trip to Australia and New Zealand not only to present at SMPTE but also to my meetings where I can share my experiences in the evolution of LED technology in production and what’s ahead.”

Wagner’s experience spans both the technical and creative aspects of lighting, as a former product manager for LED lighting at Rosco Labs and as a former cinematographer.

ARRI Australia GM Brett Smith added, “We are very lucky to have Mike come visit us and share his experiences and wisdom in all things lighting as Mike has been striving to link the artistic side of lighting with technological advances for many years. He is also the person who developed the LitePad LED soft light among other products so his SMPTE paper, one on one meetings and the State of Production and Technology evening in Auckland are sure to be fascinating for all who attend.”
