Monster claim for new post-production facility

Press Release from Final Post

FinalPost, a new 5k post-production facility based in the Hunter, is about to wrap with I Frankenstein after spending three months on-set securing and managing the digital negatives for the production.

Chewing through 1TB of data daily on the set of I Frankenstein, OUTPOST has nailed the arduous task of both on-set wrangling and DIT functions. All material is backed-up in triplicate, graded, synched and compressed for editorial, VFX and iPad dailies review – and all within a couple of hours of the last shot.

In the hands of one of the greatest DIT’s and an OUTPOST favourite, James Notari hasn’t had a chance to enjoy the Melbourne life yet. Coming straight off the back of UNDERWORLD 4, James single handedly managed the digital negatives for the entire production (usually a 2-3 person task)! I Frankenstein however, has only required two carts, one located with the action unit and the other with the main stage.

“OUTPOST is leading the way with rock solid performance and an integrated toolset which delivers real-time RAW support for all formats, including Red Epic, Sony F65RAW, ARRIRAW, Canon C300 and new C500, Phantom, Go Pro, and DSLRs, such as the Canon 5DMkIII. These units cannot be beaten and we’re excited to make them available to the film and television industry here in Australia.” Shane Burrell, FinalPost.

Backed by an exemplary facility in the Hunter Valley, FinalPost offer a full end-to-end solution for RAW workflows with their NUCODA Film Master DI suite and editorial facilities. Launching in late 2011 and focusing on file-based post production and workflow capable of working up to 16bit 5k material, the facility not only provides a creative haven with the leading DI and editorial toolsets, but also give access to some of Australia’s finest talent for colour grading, finishing and editorial.
