New head of production services at Fox

Experienced TV production executive Lynda Carruthers has joined Fox Studios Australia as head of production services, responsible for supporting international film and TV companies with productions in Australia.

In another development at Fox Studios, Barbra Mckay has been appointed production manager, in charge of driving the commercial and operational management of the business.

She takes over from Morgan Hunwicks, who is now head of production at China's Wanda Studios in Qingdao. He rejoined former Fox Studios CEO Nancy Romano who started in February as interim CEO and chief operating officer at Wanda Studios.

Carruthers was production manager for the Seven Network’s Sunday Night program. Before that she was involved in the launch of ABC3 and ABC Kids.

It’s a homecoming for Carruthers as she worked in a support role to long-serving head of production services Catherine McDonnell from 2007-2009.

She succeeds Kristy Officer, the former Ausfilm executive who was appointed last November after McDonnell departed. Officer is now marketing manager for Piper-Heidsieck Champagne.

Earlier in her career Carruthers was the manager of network production at Network Ten.

McKay was director of digital marketing Australia/New Zealand for Brightcove, a global provider of cloud solutions for delivering and monetizing video across connected devices.

Her previous posts included MD of Sunstudios Australia, head of distribution and business development for BBC Worldwide channels Australasia, and national business development manager for the Nine Network.
