Colourist and on-line editor Brendan Dillon is proud to announce the opening of his post-production finishing suite, Colourspace Post, located in Crows Nest. Colourspace is focused primarily on the broadcast television, documentary and film markets in which Brendan has over 20 years experience.
After a long career finishing factual and reality TV, drama and the odd TVC for bigger production and post-production houses, Brendan was itching to set up his own facility. "The aim was to create my ideal suite, a spacious, comfortable environment for both myself and my clients, and with reliable equipment set to my own specifications," he says. Packed with the very latest technology, including DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud, Tektronix Waveform Monitoring & Error Logging, Genelec Audio, and professional high-end LCD and Plasma displays, the suite is now one of the best-equipped in Sydney. Coupled with Brendan's expertise, Colourspace has the tools and knowledge to finish any project to the highest standard – efficiently and error-free.
Being a smaller operation, Brendan can offer producers a focused, personalised service in which he can be across a job from start to finish. When a booking is made at Colourspace, clients are guaranteed to get the good suite with the good operator!
Colourspace is also on standby for any overflow work. "I have a lot of experience working on big reality shows and those beasts can get pretty hectic," Brendan says, "so if an on-line team needs a hand, they can send over their episodes to be graded, sent back and re-linked to their system."
The doors have only just opened at Colourspace but there's been no time for Brendan to languish in his new quarters – he's already completed a documentary for the Tarrawarra Museum of Art, directed by Catherine Hunter, and has just begun work on an action/comedy feature film for Octopus Pictures titled The Hunters Club. "It's shot on RED Epic, which is a lot of fun to grade," Brendan says.
