Virginia Madsen (Joy, Sideways) and Patrick Warburton (Ted, Family Guy, Seinfeld) have joined the cast of Safe Neighbourhood, currently shooting at Sydney's Fox Studios and starring Olivia DeJonge (M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit), Levi Miller (Pan, Jasper Jones, Red Dog: True Blue) and Ed Oxenbould (The Visit, Paper Planes).

Also joining the cast are Dacre Montgomery (Lionsgate’s upcoming Power Rangers) and Aleks Mikic (Joe Cinque’s Consolation, Secret City).

The Storm Vision Entertainment and Best Medicine production is described as "Home Alone meets Scream".

"Set in a quiet American suburb on a snowy evening on the lead up to Christmas, Ashley (Olivia DeJonge), the regular babysitter for Deandra (Virginia Madsen) and Robert Lerner (Patrick Warburton), has to defend their twelve-year-old son (Levi Miller) from strangers breaking into the house – only to discover that this is far from a normal home invasion".

The film is directed by Chris Peckover (Undocumented) and written by Zack Kahn and Peckover.

Storm Vision’s Brett Thornquest and Sidonie Abbene (Infini, Terminus, SFv1) are producing with Best Medicine's Brion Hambel and Paul Jensen, and executive producers are Steven Matusko, Shane Abbess and Lorenzo De Maio.

Producer Brett Thornquest said, “We are honored that actors of the caliber and international standing of Virginia and Patrick have joined the cast along with Dacre and Aleks.  With Olivia, Levi and Ed, this is the perfect ensemble".

Producer Brion Hambel added: “With this stellar group of actors and Chris and Zack's thrilling script, this promises to be a crazy night for our cast of characters and a crazier ride for the audience”.

XYZ Films is representing North American rights on the film and Versatile is handling international sales.
