Sony Pictures Television’s Tiny Pop TV channel has acquired Essential Media's preschool series Sydney Sailboat.

The deal was brokered by international distrib Raydar Media for multiple territories including the UK, Ireland, South Africa and fifty other pan-African territories.

Formerly known as Bubble Bath Bay and rebranded for the international market last year, the series is currently screening on NBC Sprout in the US and returns to ABC KIDS on April 4.

It runs for fifty-two episodes of eleven minutes each.

Head of Family Carmel Travers said that Essential was "thrilled that young children in these new territories will discover Sydney Sailboat and are confident the Tiny Pop audiences will engage enthusiastically with the universal characters and storylines".

Sydney Sailboat was commissioned by ABC KIDS in Australia and is an international co-production between Australia, Malaysia and Ireland.

The show was produced by Carmel Travers, and directed by Steve Trenbirth.

Production partners include Essential Media and Entertainment in association with Shambles Communications, Ideate Media, Telegael Teoranta and Lemon Sky.
