Screen Producers Australia has announced the mentors for this year's Ones to Watch program, with a selection of the country's leading producers to provide one-on-one guidance to participants throughout the next few months.
SBS has unveiled the lead cast and directors of Arcadia's 1940s-set 'While The Men Are Away', with Gemma Ward making her screen return alongside Benedict Hardie and rising stars of stage and screen, Shaka Cook and Max McKenna.
New seasons of 'Total Control' and children's titles 'Rock Island Mysteries' and 'Strange Chores', as well as feature film projects from Northern Pictures, Made Up Stories and Causeway Films are among the nine projects that will share in $12 million of production funding from Screen Australia.
"We made a horror film and it's found this wonderful audience. It's definitely unexpected. And I wouldn't even necessarily say that our film is a straight horror film, but obviously as soon as you squash someone's head, it tends to not really fall in any other genre, no matter what the rest of the movie's about."
A culinary snapshot of Tuscany, as told through the eyes of Australian food authors Stephanie Alexander and Maggie Beer, is coming to the big screen, with Arcadia optioning the pair's 'Tuscan Cookbook'.
Screenworks has revealed the final round of speakers and sessions for the upcoming Regional to Global Screen Forum, with Stan head of scripted Amanda Duthie, Netflix creative executive Susie Jones, and Hoodlum Entertainment chief content officer Tracey Vieira among the new additions to the line-up
Blackfella Films company director Darren Dale, actor/director Rhoda Roberts, and screenwriting pair Meg LeFauve and Lorien McKenna will headline Screenworks' annual Regional To Global Screen Forum, which will be held as a hybrid event next month.
