The Julia Morris Film Festival is back

Press release from JMoFest

After nearly 200 entries in 2010 from all over the world, The Julia Morris Film Festival (or ‘JMoFest’ for short) returns bigger and better in 2011 for its first birthday!

JMoFest 2011 invites people to make a short movie (up to 3 mins long), and it doesn’t matter if a professional filmmaker or a regular Joe making the movie, as long it is a comedy! The only other rule is that the film has to feature the Julia mask (or even multiple masks) – which will be available as a download from www.juliamorris.com.au, and if someone would rather take a picture, they can send in a still image!

People will upload their creations onto the worldwide interweb for everyone to admire by the midnight Sunday 20th November 2011 deadline. Everyone’s favourite funny lady JMo will select her favourites for the special screening and charity fundraiser event in aid of the National Breast Cancer Foundation ‘LAUGHS FOR HOOTERS 2’ in Sydney.

Prizes will once again be up for grabs from JMo’s lovely friends the kings of creative imaging Canon and Camera House, who are joining forces to make JMoFest bigger and better in 2011! To take the festival to a new level, they’re putting awesome prizes up for grabs, including a first prize trip for two to Hollywood and a stack of the latest Canon digital SLR and Digital Video camera gear.

This year’s fabulous prizes include:

1st Place Movie Return flights and a week’s accommodation for two in Hollywood

2nd Place Movie Canon video camera XA10 ($2499 RRP)

3rd Place Movie Canon video camera HF G10 ($1999 RRP)

Best Photo Canon EOS DSLR 7DAK ($3199 RRP)

Best Composition Canon EOS DSLR 60DPK ($2399 RRP)

Join Canon and Camera House and have fun putting your creative movie-making and photography skills to work for a good cause! As an added fundraising element this year, Julia is also asking people to sponsor JMoFest 2011 – you can sponsor an entry or the entire competition or just make a straightforward pledge to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
