The King’s Speech trailer

The King's Speech, which stars Geoffrey Rush and Colin Firth, won the audience award at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

The film is a UK production but was co-produced by Emile Sherman and Iain Canning's Australian company See-Saw Films (alongside Bedlam Productions' Gareth Unwin).

The film stars Firth as Britain's reluctant King George VI, who struggled to overcome a stammering handicap. He engages the help of an unorthodox Australian speech therapist named Lionel Logue (Rush) to help him overcome his speech difficulties while rallying his subjects to fight World War II.

The film is released in Australia on December 26.
