Truce Films’ Brad In A Bottle to shoot next month

Press release from Truce Films

Emerging production company Truce Films has hit the ground running in their first year of operation, with the announcement the creative team will shoot their first short film, Brad In A Bottle, in early December.

After securing the services of former Secret Life of Us resident Spencer McLaren (Brad) and Logie’s Best New Talent Award nominee Kate Bell (Rachel) in the lead roles, the lads at Truce are confident all the pieces are slowly falling into place in order to create something truly special.

Brad In A Bottle is a short film that examines the human condition by taking a not-so-ordinary man and portraying his life of isolation, fear and anxiety as he attempts to connect with those around him.

When Rachel sweeps Brad off his feet for an evening he will never forget, the reality of Brad’s situation becomes a little more clearer in a turn of events that will leave the viewer riddled with intrigue.

Writer/Director Nicholas Clifford explains the film as “a search for answers” in a production he hopes will leave each member of the audience with their own take of what they have just witnessed.

Based in Melbourne, Truce Films is the brainchild of AFTRS graduate Clifford, Producer Michael Ciccone and Cinematographer Charlie Sarroff.

The production company itself a model which they hope will fuel their creative endeavours long into the future.

Finance for Brad In A Bottle has come directly out of the Truce Production Fund, a stream setup to give the company the freedom of not having to rely on grants or loans through funding agencies.

Though, the boys are also quick to recognise the assistance of local operators and hotel Mantra on Russell, the help which without this project would not be possible.

With principle photography commencing on Sunday, December 5th Sarroff will also be trialing the new RED Mysterium-X sensor technology which promises improved performances in low-light conditions, producing amazing images from a camera we know is already capable of great results.

Plans are in place for Brad In A Bottle to finish its post-production process by mid-January with hopes it will hit the festival circuit in early 2011.

But be sure to stay tuned and follow the films progress.
