GENR8 2024: Registrations
August 14
Screen Producers Australia (SPA) has opened registrations for its GENR8 one-day ideas forum and networking event, to be held in Melbourne on August 14.
Kicking off the day is Senior Creative Technologist at Leonardo.Ai Jessie Hughes, who will deliver a keynote on empowering the creative process, sharing unbiased insights, attitudes, and opinions on AI in creative industries.
There will also be an open forum discussion on AI, featuring director, writer, and producer Alex Proyas and GoodThing Productions producer Virginia Whitwell.
Elsewhere, co-creator of the NAVGTR Award-winning Untitled Goose Game (2019), Jake Strasser will share his experiences developing games on a panel with writer and dramaturg Jojo Zho, head of narrative on Cult of the Lamb.
In another session, First Nations industry experts Ben Armstrong, head of gaming at Awesome Black, and Elijah McDonald, lead game designer at GUCK, will share their opinions and contribute to the conversation on whether or not there is more freedom when it comes to leading the narrative in a game or a feature film.
Other speakers include Haven’t You Done Well Productions general manager Georgia Mappin, who will join a panel to discuss how storytellers forge their own paths by developing ideas, finding their audience, bypassing streamers or commissioning deals, and thriving online.
GENR8 is delivered in partnership with VicScreen and RMIT University as proud partners.
