Established in 2013 with support from ITV Studios Australia managing director Anita Jacoby, the Jacoby-Walkley Scholarship is a paid internship which offers final-year university students and graduates aged up to 26 and under the chance to work with and learn from some of Australia’s most experienced news and current affairs journalists and producers.

Over 12 weeks, successful applicants will develop their knowledge, understanding and experience of the media industry with a range of top media organisations, including:
• Two weeks at Nine News in the Sydney newsroom, conducting research and assisting in the production of news stories
• Two weeks at A Current Affair and Today Show researching and working alongside producers, crews and editors in the production of a stories
• Four weeks at 60 Minutes including researching and working alongside a producer/crew/editor in the production of a story/stories
• Four weeks at The Walkley Foundation, working on production for the Walkley Awards
• Participation in at least one TV production course through the open program at the Australian Film TV & Radio School (AFTRS)
• Mentoring from Walkley Advisory Board members – all senior, respected journalists
The successful applicant receives a stipend of $3600 – equivalent to $300 a week over twelve weeks.
