The seven features include George A. Romero’s original Trilogy of the Dead: Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead (presented in a newly restored 3D version making its Australian premiere) and Day of the Dead.

Also to screen is The Last Man on Earth, credited as a major influence on Romero; the first Australian theatrical screening of Natalie Erika James’ Relic, followed by a Q&A; Mati Diop’s Atlantics, and Yeon Sang-ho’s Train to Busan.

Accompanying the focus season, ACMI is also co-presenting a two-day conference, Mapping Global Horror: Australia, Japan and Beyond, in partnership with Swinburne University of Technology and University of Pittsburgh.
