Following high-profile cinema releases in Australia, the US and Canada, and screenwriter Keith Thompson’s Outstanding Australian Script of the Year Award at the AWGIES on Friday night, producer Rosemary Blight has announced that Clubland will premiere in the UK on September 21 and in Italy on October 15.
Warner Independent Pictures will release the film in the UK and Italy will be handled by major distributor Lucky Red.
‘Warners did a fantastic job releasing the film in the US and Canada where it played more than 50 big cities and we all have high hopes for the UK, where the film’s star Brenda Blethyn is such an icon.’ said producer Rosemary Blight.
In Australia, Clubland is in its 10th week of release and is still playing at several regional locations. The film is eligible for both the AFI and Inside Film Awards.
The film has launched it’s young stars Khan Chittenden and Emma Booth internationally. Khan Chittenden is currently in the US shooting Endless Bummer and Emma Booth is in the UK shooting Working Title’s Hippy Hippy Shake alongside Sienna Miller and Cilliam Murphy.
