2023 German Film Festival

May 2, 2023 - May 24, 2023

The 2023 German Film Festival will screen May 2 – 24 at Palace Cinemas nationally as well as Palace Nova and Luna Palace Cinemas.

First highlights include Margarethe von Trotta’s Ingeborg Bachmann – Journey into the Desert and Frauke Finsterwalder’s  Sisi & I , both of which premiered in Berlin.

This year’s line features the Sönke Wortmann’s sequel to 2019 hit comedy of manners How About Adolf? (GFF19), Family Affairs, which reunites the families from the first film, this time on the Spanish island of Lanzarote where conflicts immediately erupt.

Dramas include Adrian Goiginger’s The Fox, a WWII-set drama follows an introverted motorcycle courier for the Austrian Army who finds friendship with a young fox cub.

Elsewhere’s Aelrun Goette In a Land That No Longer Exists tells the story of beauty, fashion and freedom during a pivotal time during the late 1980s.
