Antenna Rough Cut Lab – Submissions

March 31, 2023

The Antenna Rough Cut Lab is a workshop designed to pair local filmmakers with industry mentors from around the world to assist them in finishing their films to the best of their creative potential, and find new ways to reach global audiences.

Three feature-length documentaries at rough-cut stage will be selected for the Lab, and their creative teams will receive access to these international experts and decision-makers and be provided coaching and advice on storytelling, editing, marketing, sales and festival strategies.

The Rough Cut Lab Mentors this year are:

Ina Fichman is a producer with more than 25 years experience across award-winning documentary, fiction films and interactive projects. Recent productions include Stray, The Gig Is Up, Blue Box, The Oslo Diaries and the multi-award winning, Oscar-nominated Fire of Love (2022).

David Osit is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentary film director, editor and composer. His most recent film Mayor was released widely in cinemas across the US, and played at hundreds of film festivals worldwide. His film Thank You For Playing premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and won an Emmy for Outstanding Arts + Culture Documentary.

Simon Price is an Australian-based award-winning documentary and fiction film editor. Simon has brought his craft and story skills to acclaimed feature films and documentaries such as Ruin Antarctica: A Year on Ice, Free in Deed, The Leunig Fragments, Martha and In My Blood It Runs.

The Antenna Rough Cut Lab will be held April 18-19. Applications are now open and close March 31.

Antenna Rough Cut Lab is provided free of charge, thanks to the support of Screen NSW.
