Australian Screen Editors’ Edit Royale sees five editors edit a one-minute music video from the same set of rushes in just two hours.  The race is on to stand out before the audience votes on who will be the winner.

Edit Royale is held at Digistor’s offices in Sydney, and hosted by Kris Rowe and Riccy Felixburto ASE. The event is a chance to see how editors make creative decisions under pressure, and how each editor has a different interpretation of the material.

Competitors are provided with a computer (Mac), special calibrated monitor (EIZO), editing software of choice (Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve), a choice of music tracks (from Audio Network), plus all media files ready to edit.

This year’s winner will receive:

• Custodianship of the Edit Royale “Scissors” trophy
• Two tickets to the 2023 Ellie Awards
• an Avid Media Composer Ultimate one-year subscription
• an Adobe Creative Cloud one-year subscription

Every competitor will also receive a copy of DaVinci Resolve Studio plus a DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor, plus goodies and “swag” courtesy of sponsors.
