CinefestOZ has opened film submissions for the 2023 event, which will be held in the South West of WA from August 29 – September 3.

Filmmakers are encouraged to enter the Official Selection and Short Film Program for both CinefestOZ and CinefestOZ Albany (April 27 – 30).

Submissions are also open for the CinefestOZ Film Prize award, Australia’s richest film prize of $100,000 (applicable only for the August event in the South West).

Of the other categories, there is Best Short Film, CineWest Best WA Short, Best Indigenous Short, Best Director, Best Screenwriter, Best Lead Actor, and Audience Choice, as well as general categories and VR/XR expressions of interest

First Nations content will additionally be considered for CinefestOZ Broome (October 26-29).

Submissions for all categories are now open online and close on June 1, 2023.
