Dome Under Festival returns to the Melbourne Planetarium at Scienceworks in February, offering a weekend of fulldome films.

Unlike traditional cinema experiences, the fulldome films will unfold across the entire 16-metre domed ceiling of the Melbourne Planetarium, providing a hemispherical view, coupled with a state-of-the-art 5.1 surround sound system.

As the sole fulldome film festival in Australia, Dome Under Festival boasts 26 films from 13 countries that have been curated into seven themed sessions, including Kids, Astronomy, Music to Melt Your Mind, Future Visions, and Mind Blowing Art.

The event will culminate with the presentation of five prestigious awards, namely Best Astronomy Film, Best Children’s Film, Best Narrative Film, Best Art Film, and Best Short Film. The winning titles will then be submitted for consideration in the esteemed international Best of Earth Awards, recognizing excellence, creativity, and innovation in fulldome media.
