London Australian Film Festival

The London Australian Film Festival, run by the London Australian Film Society, offers British audiences a taste of what current Australia cinema has to offer, with this year’s event to include five UK premieres, a special 25th anniversary screening, and the awarding of the Cris Jones Debut Director Prize.
Venues include Finsbury Park Picturehouse, The Garden Cinema, and Picturehouse Central.
The festival will open September 21 with the UK premiere of Ivan Sen’s Limbo, starring Simon Baker.
Other UK premieres include James Vinson’s Slant, Poppy Stockell documentary John Farnham: Finding the Voice, Alena Lodkina’s Petrol and Western Sydney anthology drama Here Out West. There will also be a 25th anniversary screening of Rowan Wood’s 1998 film The Boys, starring David Wenham and Toni Collette.
London Australian Film Festival will also present the latest program from Australian Short Film Today and student and graduate short films from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
The Closing Gala film will be writer-director Jub Clerc’s Sweet As, with Clerc to win the Cris Jones Debut Director Prize.
Australian snacks and sweets will be on sale throughout the festival.
