Melbourne Documentary Film Festival

July 21, 2022 - July 31, 2022

Melbourne Documentary Film Festival will present its 7th edition, ‘Punks, Rebels, Mavericks and Renegades’ in-cinema at Carlton’s Cinema Nova this monbth.

The line-up includes 120 documentaries, including web series, VR and shorts. Among the line-up are seven world premieres and four digital Australian premieres.

Twenty-four Australian feature docs will screen in competition.

Opening night will consist of three films, Charlotte White’s Angel, Camden Casey’s Making Wonder and Fiona Cochrane’s PATOU: In Black in White. Closing the festival will be Craig Miller’s dive into Cuban music Cuba My Soul.

Melbourne Documentary Film Festival also runs online July 1 – 31. The festival is also running masterclasses hosted by Chris Pankhurst of Documentary Life online via Zoom.

·31st July Documentary Open Mic – A review of rough cuts, trailers and feedback on short documentary – Helen Gaynor, Andrew Garton, Heather Mcintosh
