The Screen Music Awards, put on by the APRA AMCOS and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers, are an annual celebration of the champions of screen music composition.

Thirteen awards will presented at this year’s ceremony, to be held November 9 at Forum Melbourne. Hosting the awards is  comedian, actor, writer, and improviser Susie Youssef, while the musical director will be Erkki Veltheim. Veltheim will lead the Screen Awards orchestra, who will perform interpretations of the four Feature Film Score of the Year nominations.

Panels of widely respected Australian screen composers will determine four nominees for 10 categories. The winners of Most Performed Screen Composer – Australia and Most Performed Screen Composer – Overseas are decided through analysis of performance activity reflected by royalty earnings.

The nominees for the 2023 Screen Music Awards will be announced on October 5.
