A leading event for emerging creatives, the Screenmakers Conference will return in 2021 to deliver the latest marketplace insights, indepth interviews with leading writers, directors and producers, panels and networking.

MCX Screenmakers including the Conference Event, 1:1 Pitch Market, Industry Roundtables, PITCH-O-RAMA and the TV Format Lab, will now be delivered 100% online across two separate events.

The two-day Conference will take place on September 10 and 11, and feature live from LA, an interview with screenwriters and presenters of the global podcast sensation The Screenwriting Life, Lorien McKenna (Up, Brave, Inside Out) and Meg Lefauve (Inside Out, Captain Marvel).  

Other highlights include the Law siblings, Benjamin and Michelle, one of Australia’s global success stories in the team from Hoodlum Entertainment, and Mighty Kingdom joins a panel exploring the rising popularity of narrative games. 

The TV Format Lab, produced by Media Mentors, will take place on September 12, bringing together the leading lights of format TV including the creators of Nine Network’s The Block and ABC’s You Can’t Ask That. Including execs from CJZ, Good Thing Productions and the ABC, this interactive lab will equip delegates with the skills to build formats from scratch whilst gaining insight into current market trends.
