Smartfone Flick Fest (SF3) – Submissions

Entries are now open for the 2023 Smartfone Flick Fest (SF3), with $50,000 worth of prizes on offer, as well as 35 awards across 5 categories to be handed out to filmmakers of all ages from across Australia and all over the world.

Included as part of the event are:

• SF3 Gala Awards open category (for short films up to 20 minutes)
• SF3 Kids (up to 10 minutes) for young people 16 and under
• SF3 Mini (up to 3 minutes) with a theme this year of ‘Up’
• SF3 feature films (at least 40 minutes long)
• SF360 (up to 20 minutes) for films in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and 360 degree genres.
• Awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Score, Best Kids Film, etc plus Best Adaptation and the First Nations award – worth $7000 alone.

The lead-up to the festival incorporates a variety of workshops and masterclasses, the first of which will be announced next month.

The 2023 judging panel includes Louis Nowra, Serhat Caradee, Talin Agon, Pieter de Vries, Karishma Mathur, Oladipo O’Fresh, and many more.

SF3 Ambassadors for 2023 are Phillip Noyce, Kerry Armstrong, Kriv Stenders, plus Nicole da Silva, Christopher Stollery, Anthony Kierann, and Emily Prior, as well as new additions Garry Maddox and Venezualan actor/director Luis Fernandez, who is currently working in LA.
