The 7th Taiwan Film Festival

July 25 - September 9

The Taiwan Film Festival in Australia is back for its seventh edition, travelling to six cities from July to September,

For the first time, Adelaide will join Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Hobart, and Melbourne in hosting more than 50 sessions and 20 Australian premieres, along with a pitching competition, Taiwanese bookshelves, and a short film competition.

Highlights include opening night film Old Fox from Hsiao Ya-Chuan, as well as a range of international co-productions including Hsiao Ya-Chuan’s Love is a Gun, Chong Keat-Aun’s Snow in Midsummer, Michihito Fujii’s 18×2 Beyond Youthful Days, and Chien-Hung Lien’s Salli.

There is also a Starstruck section comprising Ding-Lin Wang’s Breaking and Re-entering, Chen Hung-I’s Fish Memories, and Tales of Taipei, a dreamy romantic comedy featuring ten collective stories by internationally renowned directors.

Headlining the Documentary and First Nations section are Free Beats: The Musical Journey of Chen Ming Chang and Braving The Peak, both directed by Lin Cheng-Sheng, along with Rngrang Hungul’s The Woman Carrying the Prey.

The festival is presented by the Taiwan Film Festival in Australia, and the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Australia, and co-presented by the Taiwan Creative Contents Agency (TAAICA), Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Sydney, and Spotlight Taiwan as the touring supporter.
