Grant Millar, General Manager of Cinevex, has announced that he will retire from the position at the end of August. Millar has been in the film laboratory business for thirty six years, starting as a chemist at Colorfilm Laboratories in Sydney. Millar served a stint as Assistant Manager and then General Manager of Colorfilm (now Atlab) New Zealand before joining Cinevex as General Manager in 1987
Grant Millar has led Cinevex in its development from a traditional film laboratory to become a leading provider of digital and film postproduction services for domestic and international productions.
‘Grant has a deep understanding of the postproduction business, and he has provided a strong and stable direction for Cinevex, which we will miss as we wish him well for the future’, said Alaric Mcausland, Group General Manager of the Atlab Group, of which Cinevex is a member.
Ian Anderson appointed as General Manager of Cinevex
Mcausland announced that Ian Anderson, currently Cinevex’s Postproduction Manager, would replace Millar as General Manager. Ian is well known in the film industry both in Australia and overseas, and has been instrumental in leading the development of Cinevex’s digital intermediate business in the past two years, as well as establishing relationships between Cinevex and a number of leading Chinese filmmakers.
Mcausland said: ‘I can think of no better person than Ian Anderson to head up Cinevex. His experience in postproduction is ideal to manage the company through its current and future growth in digital services.’
