The 4th Asia Pacific Screen Forum connects filmmakers across Asia Pacific for five days of panels and presentations, intimate round-table discussions, workshops, screenings and networking events.
The action-packed schedule opens with an expert discussion of Filmmaking for Social Change, followed by sessions focused on conscientious casting for authentic storytelling, rights and recoupment in structuring investments, co-productions, film-friendly locations, and a panel discussion to unpack the role of festivals, awards and media in a film’s journey to audiences.
Speakers and delegates are already confirmed from Australia, Georgia New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam, including filmmakers nominated in the 15th Asia Pacific Screen Awards as well as members of the International Jury.
The dynamic Forum programme enables the local screen industry to access the incredible filmmaking talents of the region and engage with issues that matter to filmmakers through an Asia Pacific lens
The Forum includes ‘a Spotlight on the Middle East’ and APSA’s annual Reel Connections event which brings together early-career filmmakers to share ideas, stories, processes and experiences in a special networking event.
The panel sessions close with a session on filmmaking in Australia for International audiences.
The Asia Pacific Screen Forum is a unique program for the industry, encouraging relationship-building networking opportunities, as well as cultural and knowledge exchange both from within Australia and across the Asia Pacific.
Audiences also have the opportunity to watch APSA-nominated films and hear directly from the filmmakers at seven public cinema screenings held at HOTA -Home of the Arts.
The Asia Pacific Screen Forum will be held Wednesday 9th–Sunday 13th November 2022 at HOTA, Home of the Arts, Gold Coast, with the 15th Asia Pacific Screen Awards on the evening of Friday 11 November.
Tickets are on sale for the full Forum and the 15th Asia Pacific Screen Awards ceremony. Both events will be presented as physical events at HOTA on the Gold Coast and the Forum will be globally streamed.
