3 supports new IF Award for Best Music Video

The inaugural IF Award for Best Music Video has received a major boost with 3 mobile coming onboard as the awards naming rights partner. 3 will also be the major media partner for the 2007 event.
As the award’s partner 3 customers will be able to download the nominated clips for Best Music Video (from 10 October when the nominations of the IF Awards are announced) as well as check out other news about the awards. With SBS as the IF Awards broadcaster, 3 customers will also be able to watch the awards on their 3 mobile, with live SBS mobile TV on 3, as part of re-transmission.
Annie Mackin from 3 comments: ‘The Inside Film Awards is highly regarded in the film and entertainment industry, and with the addition of the 3 IF Award for Best Music Video, 3 is very excited to be part of this event. Presenting the 3 IF Award for Best Music Video for the first time extends 3’s commitment to music. Being the media partner also allows 3 to showcase new and exciting content to our customers, bringing the Inside Film Awards to all film, entertainment and music fans on 3.’
Clare Sawyer, General Manager of the IF Awards comments: ‘The Inside Film Awards is all about connecting fans of Australian films to their audiences. 3 connects mobile communities so the addition of 3 as a media partner to the IF awards makes perfect sense. The IF Awards is excited to link up with the new music content initiatives 3 has and also to give greater exposure of the Inside film Awards to the general public.’
Clare continued: ‘Additionally, the Inside Film Awards is a strong fit with 3, as both brands are recognised for innovation in their respective fields. This new partnership comes when there is just over one week left to take part in scoring for the IF Awards – I’d encourage people to get online and rate from a selection of over 70 music clips, as well as Australian animations, short films, docos and feature films. We want to open a dialogue with Australian film audiences and get them to share their opinions by rating work of talented creative people working in film and music.’
The 3 IF Award for Best Music Video
This is the first year that Inside Film have included an award for music videos, and like many of the other categories the winner is decided on by the public. The IF Awards have a reputation for supporting independent filmmakers and new talent and this award has been created in recognition of the many people in the film industry who make their mark and hone their skills by directing music clips.
Over 70 clips are eligible for the 3 IF Award for Best Music Video, with artists ranging from Silverchair and Evermore through to Toni Collette and the Finish and The Spazzys. The three nominees for the IF Award for Best Music Video will be revealed on 10 October, along with the nominees in all the other categories.
