Melbourne’s 48HFP awards were held at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) on Friday night, November 7 with a crowd of 360 guests in attendance.
Oren Gerassi, Director & Producer of 48HFP Melbourne said: "The event was a blast and had a good vibe. We had representatives from the industry that presented the awards, specially made film reels with the 48 logo made from fibreglass."
Judging the films were Japanese Story producer Sue Maslin, ACMI head of film Richard Sowada and actor Simon Lyndon (Chopper).
The 48HFP kicked-off on October 24 with over 24 teams of filmmakers who took on the challenge of creating a 4-7 min film to compete for prizes worth $3,000 of equipment hire voucher sponsored by Panavision, $19,000 diploma scholarship by SAE institute, $1,000 equipment & courses voucher by Open Channel, an annual membership for the Australian Directors Guild, $1,500 studio hire by Monkeesee.
