All-female VFX team oversees new US horror film, ‘Together’, while industry still grapples with gender pay gap

Genevieve Camilleri is a rarity in the Australian film industry – she is one of the few visual effects supervisors to score an Oscar nomination. She also happens to be one of the few women to break through into the upper ranks of a traditionally male-dominated industry that is still grappling with a significant gender pay gap.

“Being passionate about what I do, I pushed to make it happen. If I’d been a little more reserved, I would not be in my current supervisor position,” Camilleri says.
