Fox's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children has debuted on top of the box office, with long-weekend takings of $4.8 million.
Tim Burton's latest has knocked off The Secret Life of Pets, which fell 7 per cent to bring in $3.99 million. The Universal title now sits on $25.1 million after four weeks.
Just an inch behind Pets was Sony's The Magnificent Seven, which debuted on 250 screens and made $3.98 million.
The long weekend saw Warner Bros' Storks soar, with its takings of $2.3 million up 31 per cent on last week's debut. The animated film has now made $5.2 million overall.
Bridget Jones's Baby took a tumble this week, falling 33 per cent to ring up $2.16 million. Now on screens for three weeks, the Universal film sits just shy of $14 million.
Roadshow's Sully also fell, down 25 per cent on last week with takings of $1.4 million. The Clint Eastwood film has now made $11.2 million after four weeks.
Disney's Pete's Dragon was up 3 per cent this week, making $1.4 million and taking its cume to $5.6 million after three weeks.
Fellow Disney title Snowden, showing on 84 screens, fell 37 per cent in its second week and now sits on $1.3 million overall. Just behind it was Roadshow's Nerve, which is on $4.3 million after five weeks.
Rounding out the top ten was Madman's Indian title M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story, which debuted with takings of $298,391 from 30 screens.
Among Aussie titles, Sony's Spin Out, now showing on 96 screens, is on $651,517 after three weeks.
Umbrella's Girl Alseep, showing on 24 screens, has made $189,947 after four weeks, while Transmission's Embrace has rung up $249,960 after nine weeks.
Madman's New Zealand film Hunt for the Wilderpeople is still showing in 33 locations after 19 weeks, and has made $11.2 million overall.
